Project summary: At Parking Plaza #5, 5500 square feet of a 1-acre asphalt parking lot were replaced with permeable concrete, and an additional 1400 square feet were replaced with landscaped "biofilters". Runoff from an additional 17,000 square feet of adjacent asphalt and 19,000 square of rooftop drain to either the permeable concrete or the biofilters. Based on estimate that at least 10 inches out of an annual rainfall of 18 inches/year are absorbed, runoff from this property is reduced by a total of 265,000 gallons/year.
