REPORTING:

  • Streamkeepers report to us monthly, typically on one particular day of the month. It may be convenient to send us your reports when you receive the Streamkeeper's Newsletter each month.
  • Data collection forms for reporting your observations are available to download in .PDF format (under "Reporting" in the toolbar to the left).
  • You can either send your completed forms to us via email (be sure to save your changes!) or print them up and mail them to the Watershed Council.
  • If you have questions, you can look in the Streamkeeper Manual (under "REPORTING" in the toolbar to the left), or contact the Watershed Council's Field Coordinator at Ryan@SanFrancisquito.org.

The Streamkeepers' familiarity with the creek helps them to notice both long-term trends and immediate problems. In the past year, Citizen Streamkeepers have alerted Watershed Council staff or local authorities to a sewer leak, a car-washing station that drained to the creek, and a net across a creek that was trapping birds. They have also reported seeing rare wildlife such as wood ducks and steelhead trout smolts.
